Surviving the Coronapocolypse - or how to fill your time at home

1.  Catch up on your reading.
  • Like manga?  Here is a list of all manga that is currently FREE to read!
  • If your public library is open, go grab a stack of books for you or your kids to read - even better, generate a list of holds on your library app or website and just go pick them up at the desk!
  • Check out your public library's ebook selections.  Many public libraries use Libby, and Georgia uses Georgia Download Destination.
  • Look around your house for books you've been meaning to read but haven't had time to read - check those off of your to-be-read list.
  • Check out Kindle Unlimited on Amazon - now may be a great time to use their 30 day trial for tons of ebooks right at your fingertips!

2.  Get outside.

  • Take a walk in your neighborhood or on a walking trail near you.
  • Go to your backyard.  If it's nice, have dinner outside.
  • Find a local park, and if it isn't crowded, go let your kids play!
  • If you are near a hiking trail, go take a hike.
  • Ride your bikes.
  • This is the perfect time of year to prep for a spring garden!
  • It doesn't really matter what you do outside, but fresh air is good for your physical and mental health!

3.  Play some old school board games.
  • Look for card or board games you have in your house, dust them off, and give them a go!
  • We will be playing Uno, Scrabble, and maybe even charades (inspired, of course, by Frozen II)

4.  Get your spring cleaning on.
  • If you are going to be stuck in your house, you might as well clean it!  Make a list of all the tasks you don't have time to do and get them done!

5.  Be creative!
  • Look up Bob Ross on youtube and paint some happy trees!  You can find all kinds of art tutorials on youtube, and no one is judging your art - so now's the time to try new things!
  • If you have an instrument in your house, play it!  If you don't know how, try to learn!  We are playing the piano and I'm picking up the ukelele again to learn.
  • Catch up on some scrapbooking - either traditional or through Shutterfly!  (New to Shutterfly?  Get a free 8x8 photo book here!)
  • Create some stop motion videos - we love Stop Motion Studio app - it's a lot of fun!

The bottom line is, step away from social media and the news and take advantage of this time to get things done and make some memories!!!
