6 reasons cruising is the best family vacation!

Our family has been lucky enough to go on two cruises in the past few years - we have gone on a Carnival cruise to Mexico and a Disney cruise to the Bahamas.  Both cruises were great experiences for us and convinced me that cruising just may be the best family vacation!

6 reasons why I think cruising is the best family vacation:

1.  There are activities for all age levels.  Whether you have small kids, tweens, or teenagers, there are activities for them to enjoy.  I love that there are things from everyone on a cruise!

2.  Kids can have fun while the parents have some grown-up time.  With the kids and teen clubs on the ship, the adults have some time to themselves!  This is one of the BEST things about a cruise in my opinion!  Most vacations with kids aren't truly vacations for the parents!  On a cruise, the parents can actually have some grown-up time!  We even discovered that the kids can eat dinner in the kids area so that we were able to have a quiet dinner together!

3.  It is all-inclusive in cost.  Other than gratuities and premium beverages (which you can prepay or get drink packages to pay for in advance), your entire trip is paid for in advance.  Because of this you can just enjoy your trip without having to worry about having to pay for every little thing.

4.  You get to visit several destinations in one trip.  I love to visit new places!  And with cruising, you get to enjoy both the journey (on the ship) AND several destinations!  I like that with one trip you are able to visit different locations and see different things!

5.  Cruise lines are very accommodating for kids with special needs and those with special dietary concerns.  Most cruise lines are autism certified and are very good at accommodating those with dietary restrictions.  This makes it easy to relax and enjoy your vacation without worry.

6.  It is a great opportunity for your kids to meet people from all over the world.  On of our son's favorite things on our first cruise was seeing where all of the crew members were from.  It was a great opportunity for him to broaden his cultural horizons and he loved it!
