Dapper Day at Disneyworld

Last weekend was Dapper Day at Walt Disney World!  What is Dapper Day?  Only the best weekend ever to go to Disney!  (At least in our opinion!)

When Disneyland first opened in 1955, that was an era when people dressed up to go places.  Vintage pictures of Disneyland are full of well-dressed people enjoying their day!  Dapper Day seeks to revisit those "dapper days" at Disney with scheduled outings in the spring and fall at Disneyland, Disneyworld, and Disneyland Paris.

While many people simply dress up in vintage and elegant style, others add in disneybounding where they dress as a Disney character in vintage style!  Carlos and I were in this group of people!

On Saturday morning we went to Animal Kingdom as Donald and Daisy - only I was Donald and he was Daisy!  This is known in the cosplay/disneybound world as "genderbend."

On Saturday afternoon we headed to Magic Kingdom to join the Mickey's 90th birthday celebration as Mickey and Minnie!

On Sunday we were at Epcot as Mary Poppins and Bert from the Jolly Holiday scene of the movie!  (Again in "genderbend.")

Some of Carlos' swing dancing friends also love Dapper Day so we decided to "Lindy-bomb" the British Revolution show  - did you know you can swing dance to Bohemian Rhapsody?

Dapper Day is so much fun because you are there with a group of like-minded people - everyone is so friendly, and you get to meet up with old friends, meet Instagram friends in real life, and make new friends!
