6 ways to update your kid's fall wardrobe ethically and affordably!

Here in the south it appears that the weather has FINALLY gotten the memo that it is fall.  And with the change in temperature, there is a need to update my kids' wardrobes for the season.  If you are mom, you probably don't have time to go shopping and if your kids are anything like mine, they are NO fun to go shopping with!  😆

So I'm here to give you 6 affordable and ethical ways to update their wardrobes!

  • Last year's wardrobe - Be sure to go through last fall's clothes and pull out anything that still fits or anything you have previously purchased for this season.  Always start with what you have!
  • Local thrift stores - This takes more time and effort than any of the other tips; however, if you have a good local thrift store, you may find some great options there.  I went to our Last Chance Goodwill last week looking for camo shirts for Red Ribbon Week and found some great button-up shirts for my son that were in GREAT shape!

  • Poshmark - I love Poshmark for buying and selling clothes for myself, but it's a great resource for kids clothes as well!  One of the great things about Poshmark is that most sellers will offer discounts if you bundle several items - if you can find another mom selling fall clothes in the size you need, you can score big!  Not on Poshmark?  Sign up with the referral code courtneyricole to receive $5 off your first order.
  • ThredUp - ThredUp is an online thrift store - the benefit is that you can search for the exact item you are looking for - so if you know that a certain brand fits your child, you can search for that brand only. Get $10 off your first purchase!

  • Kids on 45th - I just discovered this website and I am so excited about the possibilities.  This site allows you to put your child's size and style and they will pick nearly-new items for them!  You get to choose the categories and how many of each (for example: 2 long-sleeved shirts, 1 fall jacket, 1 sweater, etc.) and they will find the items and ship them to you in a box!  This is not a subscription (although you can subscribe to 4 boxes a year - one for each season) and you can return anything that you don't like or doesn't fit!  I can't wait to try it out! Get $10 off your first box!!

  • Primary.com - If new clothes are what you are wanting, Primary is a great option! Their warehouses are WRAP certified and their clothes are great quality.  They have great basics in a variety of colors.  I have often said that I wished they had adult sizes - well now they have adult pajamas for Christmas!!  Get 20% off and free shipping!

So there you have it, 6 easy and affordable ways to update your child's clothing for the season - which one is your favorite?
