8 things we love about Disney's Polynesian Resort and Spa

There are so many things to love about Disney's Polynesian Resort and Spa that it's hard to count them all, but here are a few!

1.  The decor - We love the "Tiki culture" decor and other aspects of the Polynesian culture that runs throughout the resort.  The palm trees, the art, the music - it's all so beautiful!

2.  The restaurants

Kona Cafe - Kona Cafe has a great breakfast!  It's a low-key, and filling way to start your Disney day!

O'hana - If you are looking for character experience, this is your place!  Mickey Mouse himself, along with Lilo and Stitch come by to visit with you as you eat a delicious breakfast!  The passion fruit juice (parcha) is especially yummy!!!

3.  Dole Whip - What is a trip to the Polynesian without a Dole Whip??!  We like to relax with a Dole Whip after a morning at the Magic Kingdom as a way to cool off!  It's available with or without rum - depending on just how much relaxing you can handle!  ;)

4.  The drinks - The Polynesian Resort may have the prettiest drinks!  We had these drinks (Island Sunset) at the Tambu Lounge, but the most well-known drink they serve is the Lapu Lapu, served in a fresh pineapple!

5.  The beach - Along the water, there is a beach area where kids can play in the sand to their heart's content, and the grown-ups can sit on a swing and enjoy a drink with a view of the Magic Kingdom.  It's really a perfect way to spend an hour or so!

6.  It's own hub grass area - Just as you come out of the Ceremonial House, there is this "grassy" area - it's a gorgeous place to have your Dole Whip (it's right across from the Pineapple Lanai) and they often have toys and games out for the kids to play!

7.  The flowers - This artisan is making traditional leis with fresh flowers - he has also had hair pieces and barrettes as well.  He gave each of my kids a flower - it was such a kind gesture and they were each thrilled!

8.  The monorail - You are just a hop, skip, and jump away from the Magic Kingdom via the monorail!  Plus, how lovely is the monorail station itself?

Trader Joe's and the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show are still on my Polynesian bucket list!

What about you?  What is your favorite thing about Disney's Polynesian Resort and Spa?
